Sun Gangs leaked !

So, the word is out: Sun Gangs found it’s way onto the internet today, february 24th.
We received signals from various sources that the record had leaked after (unprotected) promo copies of the album had been sent out in the past week. After a quick search on the world wide web we found out that this is indeed true.
Make of this information what you will. We won’t post any download links here or tell you where to find the album. For anyone chosing to download the album before the release date of April 6th: make sure to buy the album when it’s out!!

'Three Sisters' previewed on Myspace

Today The Veils uploaded the first in a series of new album previews on their myspace player: ‘Three Sisters’, a blistering, loud new track featuring an avalanche of mandolins, clocking in at just over two and a half minutes.
“New Song Leaked For Your Pleasure
Part one of our series of sneak peeks of the third album is now in our media player.
The song is called Three Sisters and it is about as much fun as it is possible to have with six mandolins in a cave in Acton.”
Go HERE to discuss the new track.

Bernard Butler produced a 'Sun Gangs' track?

According to Pitchforkmedia.com ex-Suede/The Tears guitarist and producer Bernard Butler produced one of the tracks on Sun Gangs:
“Nick Cave acolytes the Veils will release their third album, Sun Gangs, on April 7 in the U.S. via Rough Trade. The record was produced by Graham Sutton, who’s worked with Jarvis Cocker in the past, with one track produced by Bernard Butler.”
Bernard Butler previously worked with the band on half of the tracks on The Runaway Found. Strangely, his involvement on Sun Gangs hasn’t been mentioned anywhere else so we can’t confirm this.

The Veils announce 'Sun Gangs'

The Veils have finally broke the silence and have announced their third album, entitled ‘Sun Gangs’, will be released on April 6th. The album’s tracklist, containing 10 songs, is also announced.
The band has been shooting short films to accompany the album’s release. Some of those have been directed by Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard, who have recently worked with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds on their last couple of videos.
Here’s what Finn has to say in a message on the band’s Myspace page:
Sun Gangs
We are all very proud to announce the completion of our third album titled ‘Sun Gangs’.
We went a little quiet over the past month but I assure you there has been much toiling behind the scenes to bring this little bundle of joy to you in the state we intended.
It is an album we are all immensely proud of here in the west London Veils HQ, a record full of twists and turns that we hope will be of use to you in some way or another.
The final tracklisting is as follows, it’ll be in shops in April.
1. Sit Down By The Fire
2. Sun Gangs
3. The Letter
4. Killed By The Boom
5. It Hits Deep
6. Three Sisters
7. The House She Lived In
8. Scarecrow
9. Larkspur
10. Begin Again
We have been filming some small visual treats which we will put on our website over the next few weeks including acoustic renditions of some of the new songs and two new music videos, one filmed in New Zealand with our dear friend Sean Grattan, and one in London with recent acquaintances the equally wonderful Jane Pollard & Iain Forsyth.
The tidal wave of interviews is to commence soon and I must ask all of you to please consider while reading them that I am by nature a shy and increasingly insular human being that when confronted with a line of heavy questioning will lie stolidly and mercilessly until the threat desists.
Thank you, and now let’s go have a lovely year.
Finn
